Because what we treasure has our heart and will influence and form our life; how we see life, how we respond to life, and who and what we live for.

He is in Matthew 13:44-52 where he shares about the parable of the treasure hidden in a field and the parable of the pearl of great value. He asks us if we see the supreme worth of the kingdom of Heaven and are we willing to give up all our religious pearls we have to have the pearl of great value, Jesus and His Kingdom.

He shares how God sent Jesus to die for us to not only forgive us for our sins but also that we would live through Jesus. Kenny gives a practical definition of what grace is and how it enables us to accomplish what we could never accomplish on our own, and in this message that is to love others as Jesus loved us..
I continue with the podcast series called “The Way Of The Cross The Way Of The Heart” walking with Jesus as He travels toward the cross. In “Episode 6” I am in Mark 10:32-52 where James and John ask Jesus for the positions of being on Jesus’ left and right when He comes into glory. They are blind to how blind they are. Then Jesus heals Bartimaeus who is a blind beggar and know how blind he is and calls out to Jesus to help him see.
Mark 10:32-52
32 And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. And they were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. And taking the twelve again, he began to tell them what was to happen to him, 33saying, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles. 34 And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.” 35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” 36 And he said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?” 37 And they said to him, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.” 38 Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. In “Episode 5” I am in Mark 10:17-31 where the rich man asks Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus uses this to teach this man, and the disciples, that eternal life, or salvation, is impossible for any person to achieve and that it is only possible through God by His grace.
Mark 10:17-31
17 And as he was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’” 20 And he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” 21 And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22 Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. 23 And Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 And the disciples were amazed at his words. 42 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. 43 And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. 45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, 48 where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’
