Being Otherly Introduction


Kenny started a new podcast series called “Being Otherly”, with his friend Willam Puckett. This is the introduction to the series which will be looking at and discussing a variety of the “one another” scriptures in the New Testament, like love one another or pray for one another or serve one another. The series will give you a vision of what authentic healthy relationships and community could look like and challenge you to pursue it. In this episode they will look at and talk about Phil 2:3-5 and John 13:15-17 to give a foundation and example for being otherly. Then they will look at and discuss John 13:34 and John 3:16 to give you the overarching theme of bring otherly, “to love one another”.

Phil 2:3-5

3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

John 13:15-17

15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

John 13:34

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Being Otherly – Love One Another


Kenny continues with his friend Willam Puckett on the new podcast series called “Being Otherly”. This episode is titled “Love One Another” and Kenny and William look at and discuss John 13:34 where Jesus commands the disciples to love one another as He has loved them. They discuss what loving one another looks like for us and invite us to follow Jesus example.

John 13:34

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

28 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. Love One Another As I Have Loved You

In this message, Love One Another As I Have Loved You, Kenny is looking at John 13:34-35. He reminds us of Jesus’ command to love one another as He has loved us, giving us some good practical expressions of what that looks like, as well as how we can live this command out by the power of the spirit.

1 John – Part 11

This teaching is part 11 in a series on 1 John where Kenny goes through 1 John 5:13-21. Kenny starts by sharing what is the main purpose for John writing this letter, that believers would know that that by believing in the name of the Son of God they would know they already have eternal life. Then he shares how this gives us confidence before God in prayer to ask according to His will and know you have what you ask of Him.

1 John – Part 10

This teaching is part 10 in the series on 1 John where Kenny goes through 1 John 5:1-12. Kenny starts by sharing about those who have been born of God believe in God and overcomes the world. Then he shares about the testimony that God has given us concerning the Son with the water, the blood, and the Spirit so we can know we have eternal life in the Son.
