3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

John 13:15-17

15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

John 13:34

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Being Otherly – Devoted To and Honoring One Another

Kenny continues with his friend Willam Puckett on the series called “Being Otherly”. This episode is titled “Devoted To And Honoring One Another” and Kenny and William look at and discuss what devoted and honoring mean and what being devoted to one another and honoring one another might look like in the lives of Jesus followers.

Romans 12:10a (NIV)

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love…

Acts 2:42-47

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Romans 12:10b (NIV)

…Honor one another above yourselves.

Romans 12:10b (NLT)

…and take delight in honoring each other.

Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
