I continue with the podcast series called “The Way Of The Cross The Way Of The Heart” walking with Jesus as He travels toward the cross. In “Episode 2”, I am in Mark 9:30-37 where the disciples are arguing over which of them is the greatest as they walk with Jesus toward Jerusalem. As they are engrossed in this argument they are missing what God is doing.
Mark 9:30-37
30 They went on from there and passed through Galilee. And he did not want anyone to know, 31 for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.” 32 But they did not understand the saying and were afraid to ask him. 33 And they came to Capernaum. And when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?”34 But they kept silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest. 35 And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” 36 And he took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, 37 “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.”

In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
I started a new podcast series called “The Way Of The Cross The Way Of The Heart”. I will be discussing different portions of scripture of when Jesus is traveling toward the cross where the disciples are challenged in how they see Jesus and what it means to follow Him not just externally but inwardly from the heart. In Episode 1, I am in Mark 8:27-35 where Jesus says to Peter, “get behind me Satan” and then calls the disciples and the crowd to deny themselves and take up their cross and follow him.
Mark 8:27-35
27 And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” 28 And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” 29 And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” 30 And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him. 31 And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32 And he said this plainly. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. 33 But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” 34 And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.

In this message, Love One Another As I Have Loved You, Kenny is looking at John 13:34-35. He reminds us of Jesus’ command to love one another as He has loved us, giving us some good practical expressions of what that looks like, as well as how we can live this command out by the power of the spirit.
This is part 5 in a teaching series on Ephesians. Kenny continues a discussion on some of the various aspects of prayer that Paul prays in Ephesians 1:15-23. He shares about how the prayer compliments the teaching in the letter, showing us the need for the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of our heart to really know the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints is and what the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe.
In this message,”Under The Influence“, Kenny starts with Matthew 6:19-21 where Jesus says “do not lay up treasures on earth but treasures in Heaven, because where your treasure is there your heart will be also”. Then he challenges us with the question, “What are we under the influence of?”.
