In this message, According To Counsel Of His Will, Kenny uses the stories of the Apostle Paul’s conversion, Ananias going to Paul, and of the gospel spreading throughout all Asia from Ephesus to draw our attention to the sovereignty of God and that he is working all things according to the council of His will. He then pulls that truth into our day for us to see God is still at work and that we need to be faithful to what God has called us to be and do so that He becomes famous through us.

He gives us some background on the Apostle Paul and the church at Ephesus along with some of the cultural and religious culture of the time of the writing. This episode is a bit longer, about 49 minutes, so that he can get all the background information in one episode.

Kenny starts by sharing what is the main purpose for John writing this letter, that believers would know that that by believing in the name of the Son of God they would know they already have eternal life. Then he shares how this gives us confidence before God in prayer to ask according to His will and know you have what you ask of Him.
This teaching is part 10 in the series on 1 John where Kenny goes through 1 John 5:1-12. Kenny starts by sharing about those who have been born of God believe in God and overcomes the world. Then he shares about the testimony that God has given us concerning the Son with the water, the blood, and the Spirit so we can know we have eternal life in the Son.
This teaching is part 9 in the series on 1 John where Kenny goes through 1 John 4:7-21. Kenny shares how love is from God because God is love and that we can only love because he first loves us. So when we love one another it is evidence that we have been born of God and know Him. And if we do not love it is evidence we do not know God.
In this message, “Come Alive”, that Kenny preached at Second Baptist Church, he challenges us to come alive. He calls us to come alive to who we are in Christ, to the Holy Spirit who lives within us, and embrace and step out in Jesus ministry that is found in Luke 4:18-19.
